The Way

My child I did not ask you

To swim the deepest sea

Or climb the highest mountain

To prove your love for me

Right from where you’re standing

You can fall upon your knees

Let your heart find sweet surrender

As you yield your life to me

There is a price that must be paid

Salvation is not free

But I knew you could not pay the debt

For you had no currency

So I left my throne in heaven

All my glory laid aside

I came to earth as one of you

And lived a perfect life

Then I took your sins upon myself

And nailed them to the tree

I paid the price with my own blood

I only ask you to believe

Yet some are still complaining

That the gate is much too straight

And the path that leads to heaven

Is too narrow of a way

They even get offended

When I say I am the One

Never stopping to consider

Just what more could I have done?

Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”  John 14:6 (KJV)
