I know today’s my birthday
But I’ve no need to frown
Although those years keep adding up
I am counting down
A short time now to run this course
And finish up my race
Then I will stand on heaven’s shore
Where I will take my place
Among the saints and loved ones
Who have gone on before
Mom and Dad will come to greet me
As I enter heaven’s door
Then I’ll run to meet my Jesus
To be held in His embrace
All tears forever wiped away
When I see Him face to face
But I say to friends and loved ones here
There is no cause for worry
Though I long for my eternal home-
I am really in no hurry
