Jericho Revisited

It began with just a little lie

But you embraced it in your heart

You may not have even noticed

When we began to drift apart

And the road that led away from me

Looked pleasant in your sight

You walked that road ‘til the day came

You could no longer see the light

If it’s true that time and distance

Can pass a point of no return,

Then why in stillness of the night

Do you find your heart still yearns?

Yet with every lie that you believed

You laid bricks down one by one

You built a wall to keep me out

And block the light of sun

Don’t forget the friends and family

Who tenaciously still care

They are marching now around your wall

With silent tears and prayer

Remember that I am the Truth

And truth cannot be changed

You may find your whole wall crashing down

At the shout of my great name

Although you’ve wandered far away

From the narrow path

The light is on for your way home…

It’s only one step back

“So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets:

and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet,

and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat…”

Joshua 6:20 ( KJV)
