Lord it’s hard to keep on walking
With a pebble in my shoe
I tend to get distracted
From the things that I should do
Sometimes I lose my focus
Then I lose my point of view
When all that I can feel
Is the pebble in my shoe
I tried to shake it out
Pretend it wasn’t there
I tried to change the way I walk
Or change the way I care
I asked You Lord to take it
Which I know that You can do
For now I guess You think I need
A pebble in my shoe
So since You think I need it
And You know the path I trod
I know that nothing separates me
From the mighty love of God
Someday soon I’ll walk right up
To that celestial street
You’ll give to me a robe and crown
And I’ll have brand new feet!
So when I get to heaven
And I’m dancing down that road
I will be forever grateful
To find no pebbles made of gold
“…and the street of the city was pure gold…” Rev.21:21 (KJV)
