I’ve decided to live until I die
This body will not atrophy from disuse
I plan to wear it out instead
I will work until I retire
Taking vacations at Disneyland
I will ride the roller coasters and bumper cars
I will wear shorts that show off my spider veins
I will eat churros even though they are fried
I will hike mountain trails by myself
I will go white water rafting in a foreign country
( at least once )
I will dance Zumba
I will take Aleve with a whole glass of water
And someday when my legs don’t work
And my eyesight isn’t so good
I will sit in my rocking chair and organize
all these m e m o r i e s
I plan to live until I die
And then- Oh Boy…
I’m really going to LIVE!
